The agent loop

ECP (Execution Control Protocol) is the capability you operate, not the whole harness. The loop is search → author → validate → run → inspect → repair.
--env is optional. Omit it to use installed plugins on the process host.

2. Author a workflow file

Write a *.ecp.ts file. Prefer ecp init <name> for a stub. Bind plugins with .with([...]) or let inference fill requirements from step("id"). See Workflow files.

3. Validate

Fix ECP_INPUT_INVALID, ECP_BINDING_INVALID, and ECP_PLUGINS_MISSING before you run. Codes and suggestions live in Error codes.

4. Run

--to stops after a named step. --events streams run events. A journal is written under .ecp/runs/<runId>/.

5. Inspect and repair

Read the error envelope, patch the workflow file, and rerun from the failing step when the graph still matches.

What not to copy

Do not paste CLI flag tables into prompts. Run ecp <command> --help. Do not put secret values in the workflow file.
